Code of Conduct

Players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators are to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates respect to other players, coaches, officials, parents, spectators and fans. In becoming a member of this organization, an individual assumes certain obligations and responsibilities to the organization and its participants. The essential elements in this Code of Conduct are HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these elements will bring credit to themselves, their team and their organization. It is only through such conduct that our organization can continue to earn and maintain a positive image and make its full contribution to our sport and community.

The following essential  elements of the Code of Conduct must be followed:
1. Sportsmanship and teaching the concepts of fair play are essential to the game and must be taught at all levels and developed both at home and on the field during practices and games.


2. The value of good sportsmanship, the concepts of fair play, and the skills of the game should always be placed above winning.


3. The safety and welfare of the players are of primary importance.


4. Players should always demonstrate positive behavior and respect toward teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, parents and spectators.


5. Coaches, players, parents and spectators are expected to demonstrate the utmost respect for officials and reinforce that respect to players/teammates. 


6. Grievances or misunderstandings between coaches, officials or any other parties involved with the organization should be communicated through the proper channels and procedures, never on or about the field of play in view of spectators or participants. 


7. Spectators involved with the game must never permit anyone to openly or maliciously criticize, badger, harass or threaten an official, coach, player or opponent.


8. Eligibility requirements, at all levels of the game, must be followed. Rules and requirements such as age, previous level of participation, team transfers, etc, have been established to encourage and maximize participation, fair play and to promote safety.

Lindsay's Law

Knothole Requirement: All parents, coaches, players, umpires, and anybody associated with the league is responsible to enforce the new Lindsey law requiring youth athletes and parents to view the Ohio Department of Health video on Sudden Cardiac Arrest. See the following webpage for details:

Acknowledge and Release Liability

Waiver 2018 – Deer Park Baseball/Knothole Club of Greater Cincinnati, Inc. :
To the best of my knowledge my child is physically fit and able to play baseball and I agree as parents or guardian to furnish a doctor’s statement to the affect if requested by the Team Manager or the District Supervisor.  It is understood that Knothole does not take responsibility for the physical fitness of players and that as the parent or guardian I bear the responsibility for my child’s physical condition.


I hereby agree that the Knothole Club of Greater Cincinnati, Inc., its members, coaches, or officers and any Park District, School Board, or the like entity whose facilities are utilized shall not be liable for any injury or loss which my child or children may sustain while participating in activities of any kind, whether sponsors, officers, or designates of any kind from any claim whatsoever.

As a parent or guardian, I understand that all adults associated with Deer Park Baseball are not required to have a background check, medical training, or any other certifications. As a parent or guardian I have been advised of these facts and I accept all responsibilities for my child or children participating in the Deer Park Baseball youth program. I have also been provided with the CDC website for “Heads Up Concussion in Youth Sports” website at www.cdc.gov/concussion for free concussion training and I have been encouraged to take the free training. I accept responsibility and understand I may remove my child or children at any time in any activity if I believe they have suffered an injury that could result in a concussion or if I believe they are in any type of dangerous situation including lightning or other natural disasters.


I agree to indemnify and to hold harmless any and all parties and their members, coaches, sponsors, officers, or designates of any kind from any claim whatsoever.
